Violent clashes in Tripura: CPM offices vandalised; party blames BJP

Violent clashes occurred between BJP and CPM in different parts of Tripura on Wednesday.

Clashes broke out when BJP workers protested against an alleged attack on party cadres during former Chief Minister Manik Sarkar’s rally in Dhanpur on Monday. Protestors vandalised CPM office in Agartala and many vehicles which were parked outside were set ablaze.

The office of Vernacular Daily was also vandalised and many journalists were injured in the attack.

“Violence & Hooliganism is so ingrained in the BJP Tripura govt, that today the fourth pillar of DEMOCRACY was BRUTALLY ATTACKED! We stand in solidarity with the media fraternity and remain committed in our fight towards REMOVING the Duare Gunda Model of Biplab Deb from Tripura,” Party MP Abhishek Banerjee wrote on Twitter.
