Union Health Ministery admitted the oxygen deaths in Andra Pradesh

The Joint Ministry of Health admitted for the first time that some patients receiving respiratory support died due to insufficient oxygen supply during COVID19 treatment. The Minister of State, Bharati Pravin Pawar, told Rajya Sabha on Tuesday that, without specifying the exact number, according to preliminary investigations, Andhra Pradesh reported in May that some patients died after the oxygen pressure dropped in the hospital. The ministry insisted that “to date, no state has clearly informed the ministry about deaths caused by oxygen shortages,” and only one state has noted alleged deaths due to insufficient oxygen supply.
