Mamata Banerjee played drums and joined local dances with tribal people in Jagram, West Bengal

Mamata Banerjee, West Bengal’s chief minister, performing tribal dances and playing drums in Jhargram. The video comes from an event held on August 9 to commemorate the International Day of the World’s Indigenous People (also known as World Tribes Day). Banerjee donned tribal clothing in her white sari, trembling with the rhythm of Jhumur. The prime minister also played Jhumur, a hand instrument used by West Bengal and the Dhamsa tribe, which is a special type of drum.
