In the ninth attempt by the debt recovery court, businessman Vijay Mallya’s Kingfisher House in Vile Parle, Mumbai, was eventually sold to Saturn Realtors in Hyderabad for 52.25 crores. Kingfisher House was once the headquarters of the now defunct Kingfisher Airlines owned by Mallya. Malya was charged with fraud and money laundering for an alleged amount of approximately 9 billion rupees. The Saturn real estate agent paid a stamp duty of Rs 2,612 crore to the Maharashtra government for this transaction. The transaction was recorded on July 31 of the previous month. This 2401.70 square meter property located outside the Mumbai airport has been in question since 2016. After the first eight failed attempts, the Bangalore debt recovery court sold the house for a fraction of the initial reserve price of 135 million. rupees.
