The Karnataka government has decided to reopen the school for students in grades 9-12 (II PUC) from August 23, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said on Friday. After assessing the COVID19 situation in the state, he said that the government has decided to impose a weekend curfew on the border areas of Kerala and Maharashtra, and that the existing curfew in the state will start at 9 p.m. , while it is not 10 at night. The Chief Minister organized a meeting with health and education experts, ministers and senior state government officials on Friday to discuss the COVID19 situation in the state. Bommai said: “We have discussed the current COVID situation and also proposed some directions on the possible increase or decrease of the positive rate in the coming days at the Indian level, based on certain decisions that we have made.”
