Karnataka stops stamping on hands of passengers from Kerala after row

Karnataka officials’ move to stamp seal on the hands of passengers created a controversy. After the intervention of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, it was stopped by Friday evening.

O R Kelu MLA sent a letter to Pinarayi Vijayan regarding this and CM asked Wayanad Collector Dr Adheela Abdulla to probe on the matter.The stamp was sealed on the hands of those who entered Karnataka through Bavali Checkpost.

The officials justified that the hands were `quarantine stamped’ to ensure that the passengers are undertaking compulsory quarantine

.One of the passengers UC Hussain said that the officials at the border only checked the negative RT-PCR certificate and did not consider the fully vaccinated certificate.
