July Was World’s Hottest Month Ever Recorded

A US scientific institution said on Friday that July was the hottest month on record in the world, using the latest data to sound the alarm for the climate crisis. “July is usually the hottest month of the year in the world, but July 2021 surpassed itself and became the hottest July and month on record,” said the Director of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA)

“This new record adds to the disturbing and destructive path that climate change has set for the world,” Spinrad said in a statement, citing data from the National Center for Environmental Information (NCEI). This month is 0.02 degrees Fahrenheit higher than the previous record set in July 2016, which is the same as 2019 and 2020.
