IS had plans to recruit youth from Kerala

Kochi:
Islamic State (IS) had plans to recruit people from Kerala, Karnataka, and Jammu Kashmir for its militant operations in India. The NIA got crucial information while interrogating four terrorists suspects arrested from Kashmir and Karnataka in last months. The extremists attracted youth to its propaganda through social media’s telegram, Instagram and Hoop.

The team led by Muhammad Ameen (Abu Wahia), had visited Kerala several times for recruiting youths to IS. Ameen has earlier worked for the IS in Syria and Iraq. He was also a fund raiser for terrorist activities.
