Indonesia Prison fire kills 41 inmates

A fire in Indonesia prison killed at least 41 inmates and left dozens injured. The fire occurred early morning today when the inmates were asleep.

“Forty-one inmates died, eight were badly injured and 72 others sustained minor injuries,” Jakarta police chief Fadil Imran told the Press. Authorities are still investigating the incident and the primary indication points that the fire blaze occurred due to an electric short circuit.
