India unlikely to have surge in cases next month

With all its states except Kerala reporting decline in COVID-19 cases, India is unlikely to witness surge in cases in September. For this to happen, the daily cases should increase sharply and grow at an exponential rate within three-four weeks, which is doubtful to happen.

Once again NITI Aayog is projecting unrealistic COVID-19 trends without sharing the necessary details on which these conclusions are made. NITI Aayog member Dr V K Paul had come up with a warning that India might witness a surge in cases amounting over 4-5 lakh daily cases next month.
