India confirms its first ever official meeting with Taliban

India announced Tuesday confirming that it had its first ever official meeting with Taliban. India’s ambassador to Qatar Deepak Mittal met the chief of Taliban’s political office in Doha, Sher Mohammed Abbas Stanekzai at the Indian embassy on Tuesday.

Stanekzai has assured to address the three major concerns of India: safety and return of Indian nationals, safe passage of Afghan nationals coming to India and preventing Pakistan terrorist groups from using Afghan territory to target India.
