Delhi CM Kejriwal to inaugurate India’s 1st-ever smog tower in Capital today

Delhi’s chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will inaugurate India’s first smoke tower at Baba Kharak Singh Marg in the Connaught Place area on Monday to help deal with the capital’s growing severity Air pollution. The Delhi Cabinet approved the project in October 2020. Environment Minister Gopal Rai said last week that the 20-meter-long structure aims to improve air quality within a radius of about one kilometer and will operate at full capacity after the monsoon. The tower cost 20 crores and was funded by the Delhi government.
